Welcome to "Greenhorn"

The setting: Chicago during the roaring 1920's. Journalists, crime reporters, and the criminals they covered ruled the headlines. Some dedicated news hounds found important national stories, specifically about Irish immigrants coming to America.

Geno (Genevieve) Forbes, Tribune Reporter
Played by: Lindsay Chyna

A bold story hound wants to shine a light on the massive injustices of US Immigration policy in 1920. She goes undercover as an Irish Immigrant (a Greenhorn) and runs the gauntlet of Ellis Island. She amplifies the stories of these new Americans every painful step of the way.

Maurine Watkins, Journalist
Played by: Anna Bullock 

Maurine Watkins, a "mob sister" who worked for the Chicago Tribune, covered the city desk for the paper. This gave her the opportunity to report on Chicago's murderesses, a popular story at the time. She later went on to write the play, "Chicago", based off of the colorful characters she interviewed while working at the Trib.

Kathleen MacLaughlin, a Chicago Tribune reporter
Played by: Lydia Missey

A 'just the facts' reporter who teaches young journalists the basics on how to write for a newspaper.

Charley, once a young journalism student and intern at the Chicago Tribune. Ambitious and ready to make a name for herself in the world of newspapers. Elderly now, she reflects on her time at the paper and how it shaped her life.

A young journalism student looking to make her way in the new world but unlike Charley, she attempts to hold on to society's expectations and her religious upbringing in the lawless Chicago of 1920s.
